Cat6A Ethernet Cables
Category 6A Ethernet Cables are rated to peform at speeds much faster than current Category 6 cables. Achieve 10GB performance over copper up to 100 meters without the use of any media converters. These are 24 awg, gold plated modular plugs with snagless molded boots for the most professional, clean look.
Cat6a Ethernet cables are ideal for POE applications. (POE) or Power over Ethernet is when you supply power to a device such as a camera or switch without an outlet. So you can run this cable from your DVR to your cameras and transmit power and video over the same cable. These work great because their heavy jacket maintains higher power output than Cat5e or regular Cat6 cables.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS ABOUT CAT6A ETHERNET CABLES
What Kind of Cable is Best for Power Over Ethernet (PoE)?
Cat6a is an excellent choice for PoE applications, thanks to its thicker jacket and better power-handling capabilities. It supports devices like security cameras and network switches that need both data and power through a single cable.
Is Cat6a Better Than Cat6?
Yes, especially for longer-distance applications. Both Cat6 and Cat6a support 10 Gbps speeds, but while Cat6 maintains this speed up to 55 meters, Cat6a extends it up to 100 meters. If your installation requires longer runs or better shielding, Cat6a is the way to go.
Are There Any Downsides to Cat6a?
Cat6a cables are thicker and less flexible than Cat6, which can make installation more challenging in tight spaces or dense wiring setups. However, their higher performance and longer reach often outweigh these drawbacks.
Do Cat6a Cables Require Special Connectors?
Cat6a uses standard RJ45 connectors, making them compatible with most networking equipment. However, for maximum 10GBASE-T performance, it's recommended to use Cat6a-rated connectors.
Does Cat6a Need to Be Grounded?
If you're using shielded Cat6a cables, proper grounding is essential. All network components-including jacks, couplers, and controllers-must also be shielded and properly grounded to prevent signal interference. Mixing shielded and unshielded cables is not recommended as they are not compatible.
