Some cabling projects are small one room jobs, others include a whole office compiled of many computers. By planning ahead of time, you can avoid the problems that come with improper cabling later down the line.

Here's 10 Tips to Help you get the most out of your Data Center's Cabling, courtesy of TechRepublic.com.

1. Measure Twice, Cut Once.

2. Label your cables! It will help you in the future.

3. Don't buy the cheapest Cables. Cheap cables lose their value much quicker.

4. Don't forget to test. Making sure the connect works is key to success!

5. Keep Patch cables short. Longer Patch cables are messy and actually inefficient.

6. Color Code. Each color should have a purpose, meaning or grouping. This helps organizing a bunch of cables.
