This past September HDMI.org announced their latest product, HDMI 2.0. With this being the newest technology in the HDMI world, we want to make sure our customers are up-to-date with all the information you need about HDMI 2.0.

It is all about 4k. The most important new feature associated with HDMI 2.0 is that is now has the bandwidth to facilitate 4k video. Previous HDMI models could only send video signals to your TV at 10 gigabits per second. HDMI 2.0 bumps that up to 20 gigabits per second.

Improved sound quality. HDMI 2.0 compatible devices will transmit up to 32 audio channels, so you can get a surround sound that puts 7.1 surround sound to shame. HDMI 2.0 also supports up to 1536kHz audio sample frequency, which adds the capability to better sync audio to what's happening on your TV.

You still have one more year. Experts are saying that "high-end TV products" that support HDMI 2.0 will not hit retail stores until Fall/Winter of 2014.

For more interesting information about HDMI 2.0 please visit this very informative article from Gigaom here: http://gigaom.com/2013/09/05/hdmi-2-explained/
