So most of us still do not have the latest laptop or desktop PC with HDMI outputs and an HDTV with an HDMI input! We can still connect our existing laptop to HDTVs with the use of converters. These take the analog signal and convert it into the latest digital signal for crisp viewing. Analog signals include:

Composite RCA Red, White and Yellow RCA plugs found in almost all existing amplifiers, DVD players, gaming systems.
Component Blue, Green and Red RCA plugs found in all of the above devices, plus some more expensive stereo systems.
Super VGA the three row connector found in every computer out there.

Cables.com has all the adapters that take these connectors on one side and have a HDMI output on the other side. In most cases the cheap VGA to HDMI converters don't work. Think about it, how can you convert analog to digtal signal for 5 bucks!
