Sony has announced plans of their new and first to the market curved-screen LED-based LCD television. The 65-inch KDL-65S990A, will be available starting in October at Sony stores and select electronic retailers.  Rumors say that the price for the curved-screen TV will be upwards of $4,000.

Sony's main objective for engineering a curved-screen LED TV is to provide a greater sense of depth of field and allow for a wider viewing angle. Sony equip the 65-inch curved-screen with S-Force Front Surround signal processing and eight precisely angled speakers. With six front and two surround speakers, Sony is set to deliver a surround-sound experience.

Also incorporated is Sony's Smart Connect platform, which provides connectivity with Android and iOS smartphones and tablets.
