Cat6A Ethernet Cables
Category 6A Ethernet Cables are rated to peform at speeds much faster than current Category 6 cables. Achieve 10GB performance over copper up to 100 meters without the use of any media converters. These are 24 awg, gold plated modular plugs with snagless molded boots for the most professional, clean look.
Cat6a Ethernet cables are ideal for POE applications. (POE) or Power over Ethernet is when you supply power to a device such as a camera or switch without an outlet. So you can run this cable from your DVR to your cameras and transmit power and video over the same cable. These work great because their heavy jacket maintains higher power output than Cat5e or regular Cat6 cables.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS ABOUT CAT6A ETHERNET CABLES
What Kind of Cable is Best for POE (Power Over Internet)?
Category6A is best used for Power Over Interent (POE). (POE) or Power over Ethernet is when you supply power to a device such as a camera or switch without an outlet and transmit power and video over the same cable. These work great because they have a heavy jacket that maintains higher power output than Cat5e or regular Cat6 cables.
Is Cat6a better than Cat6?
The key difference between Cat6 and Cat6a cables lies in their data transmission capabilities. While both support speeds of up to 10 Gbps, Cat6 cables can maintain this speed only over distances of 37 to 55 meters (121 to 180 feet). In contrast, Cat6a cables can sustain 10 Gbps over distances of up to 100 meters (328 feet).
What are the disadvantages of Cat6a cable?
Although Cat6a offers notable advantages, such as higher data speeds and enhanced performance, it does have some disadvantages. The cables are bulkier and less flexible than Cat6, which can make them harder to install, especially in cramped or limited spaces.
Does Cat6a require special connectors?
Cat6a cables utilize the same RJ45 connectors as Cat6 and are compatible with standard equipment. However, to fully leverage the benefits of 10GBASE-T, it's recommended to use Cat6a-rated connectors.
Does Cat6a need to be grounded?
Cat6a shielded cables require proper grounding to function effectively. Keep in mind that if you opt for shielded cables, all connected components such as couplers, jacks, and network controllers must also be shielded and grounded. Mixing shielded and unshielded cables is not allowed, as they are incompatible.
