Power Cables, Power Cords

Whether you're shopping for your office suite or just looking to power up your home network, having the right power cable is essential. Cables.com stocks a broad range of power cables for numerous data center applications, and we're confident that we have the right one for you.

Are you running your business from your home garage, or managing servers halfway across the world? Whatever the size of your data center, you can rely on Cables.com for the right cables for your operation.

What exactly is a data center? To put it simply, a data center is a site responsible for storing and sharing the applications and data that make up an organization's lifeblood - its data infrastructure. Without this essential location and its operations, key day to day functions would be impossible. You can't afford to have your data center running off of anything less than the very best equipment, and that includes your power cables.

PDU Power Cables from Cables.com

Many businesses depend on data centers for their operations, and it's important to be sure that the cables powering them are up for the job. Cables.com carries a broad range of data center cables, and we're confident that we have the right one for you. Let's look at a few of the options available through our online catalog.

When it comes to data center applications, IEC320 power cables are meant primarily for connecting a PDU (power distribution unit) and a server. An IEC connector refers to a type of cable that meets the International Electrotechnical Commission standards. These cables typically consist of a "male end" with a C14 or C20 plug partnered with a "female end," commonly a C13, C15, or C19 plug. The cables you'll find on Cables.com are all UL listed, meaning that they've been tested by UL Solutions and found to meet all requirements for data center functions.

A good example of this would be our C20 to C21 PDU Power Cord. It features a 20 Amp rated jacket for optimal performance under critical conditions, and can manage up to 250 volts for proper load handling.

C14 to C19 Power cables are found in data centers or server racks where the Power Distribution Unit has C20 Plugs, and the equipment  has C13 Receptacles. This cable plugs into the back of the server, and the other end connects to the PDU. These are rated for 15 amps, and are available in all colors and lengths. You can even order a power cable built to your exact specifications by using our custom cable builder, purchasing a custom-built cable in a particular color, length, or configuration.

Finally, consider investing in a locking data center cable when you need to secure the power supply to important electrical equipment such as servers and computers. The "locking" feature is enabled when used with Rack PDUs or IT equipment. These locking connectors reduce the probability of accidentally disconnecting cords and causing power to be cut from vital components. Our locking C19 to C20 power cords will fit into any standard IEC receptacle or power inlet.
